New Year, new start? Well not quite yet.

OK so we have been slightly lax since we have got back to work regarding our blog and fundraising as there was a lot to catch up on after the festive period.  We will be planning and running some more fundraisers in the near future but in the meantime we'll update you on something that we already have up and running and that you might find very useful.

The majority of us use the internet every day so why not get paid for something you are already doing? Visit www.easysearch.org.uk to see how you can make money simply by doing searches that you would generally go on Google etc.  Use easysearch every time you search the Web and the site will give 50% of the fees paid by their advertising sponsors to your chosen cause.  You don’t have to be a charity so you can register your World Challenge expedition.

You can email the link to all your friends and family too so that every time they search the internet you can reap the reward.  Although it may seem slow going if you get lots of people to use the site the more money you will raise.  An example from the site states that if you do just 10 searches a day you could raise £20 a year.  Not bad for something that you normally do!

Lisa has been using this site to raise money for the National Hospital of Neurology and Neuroscience and has sent links to people on facebook and her email contacts.  We will keep you updated on her progress in the coming weeks and months.
Similarly if you and your family do lots of online shopping why not do it through a site called easyfundraising to gain cash back on the items that you buy.  For example if you buy something from Amazon you can get a 2.5% donation towards your cause.

Easyfundraising is a free fundraising service where you can raise money for groups and individuals just by shopping online. It doesn't cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds for your cause using the website, and as many retailers now give extra discounts when you buy online, you can even save money!

Any charity, organisation, association, trust, sports club or team, school or pre-school, religious group, community group including Scouts/Guides/ATC/Boys Brigade/etc, theatre, arts, dance or musical group, Rotary /Lions club can use our service, no matter how small or large. You can also use the service if you are an individual raising funds for a sponsored event, or if you are a school or group raising funds for an expedition.

Visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ for details on how to sign up and to get started raising some money!

We have a very similar site that we use through work.  Over the Christmas period Lisa and Laura managed to gain over £30 in cash back.  By doing this for all your regular shopping the £’s could soon start rolling in.
